Armchairs "D"

The functionalist armchairs under the name Fn 21 Famos were manufactured by Thonet according to a design by Anton Lorenz. This type was later produced by Mücke-Melder or by the national company Kovona. The inspiration for the design is the so-called spring chair by Marcel Breuer.

The tubular structure was newly chrome-plated, the beech armrests were stained in rosewood and given a new hard wax oil finish. The upholstered parts were completely replaced and covered in a luxurious and high quality geometric art nouveau fabric by Backhausen. Due to the recent closure of the Austrian company, this is no longer a unique pattern.

We are not twins, but friends. These are period originals, unique and therefore each a little different. A small variation in size, which does not disturb in normal use, can provide different seating comfort.
